Overdubs and mixing - back to Blue Moon, February 21st and March 5th

We are now moving into the final phase of our new CD, which is to be called The Bite. The first round of hard work was done before Christmas when all the original recording was completed. Now we are doing some limited overdubbing and the final editing and mixing.

Dan Garcia, who is destined to be a very accomplished percussionist ,came with us on the February visit to Blue Moon Studios in Bodicote, to lay down some bodhran and tambourine overdubs. We are also hoping to enlist a rather well known instrumentalist to do some violin and viola overdubs on two or three tracks, if we can catch him when he is off tour - watch this space!

The editing and mixing for the CD is going really well. Mark Sideleigh at Blue Moon is very experienced in our type of music and has a wonderful easy style about him that, gets the best out of us and our music. We have really enjoyed working with him and have learned a huge amount from him through the process. Between his and Rob's ears, not a lot gets missed in the editing process

We probably have three more mixing days to go and then, hopefully we move on to production.

Elsewhere, through Rightback Records, we are commissioning cover art for the CD and have now seen a very promising first draft. So, it is getting exciting now - but with our, studio and session diaries all having to be juggled, I would guess it will be May at the earliest before we have the finished product.
